The Treatment Center also offers psychoanalytic psychotherapy to those children and adults for whom The Treatment Center consultants deem psychoanalytic psychotherapy to be the treatment of choice.  Some of the child and adult psychotherapy is conducted by psychology externs. The psychology externs are all graduate students currently enrolled in PhD programs in clinical psychology. Each psychology extern has been accepted to participate in a clinical rotation offered by The New York Psychoanalytic Society. A graduate analyst supervises each psychology extern in the conduct of the psychotherapy.
